He was born in Bridger, Montana on July 22, 1942 to Jesse and Lucy Martinez.
Joe enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and watching the 49ners play. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, cowboy movies, listening to oldies music and raising rabbits. He especially loved his Chihuahua, Capullo.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucy Martinez; his sisters Porphilia Castillo, Mary Martinez, Louise Martinez and Pearl Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Martinez of Sultana, CA; his son Joe Martinez, Jr. of Fresno, CA; his daughters, Joanna Martinez, Angela Torres and Rene Lemus of Hanford, CA; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8 , 2020 from 3 - 5 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 356 N. Villa Avenue in Dinuba, CA. Interment services will follow at 12 Noon at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA.
