Joe was born in Firebaugh, California on January 8, 1952 to Genaro and Juana Flores. He was raised and educated in Woodlake, California, attending Woodlake High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. He married Olivia Sandoval on December 17, 1971 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Woodlake. Joe and Olivia made their home in Woodlake until moving to Visalia in 1998. Joe was a Correctional Sergeant at Corcoran State Prison for 27 years. He enjoyed BBQ’s with family and friends, fishing and watching his daughters and granddaughters play softball. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping his family and those in need. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Olivia of Visalia; four children, Joe Flores, Jr. and wife, Melissa , Soledad Flores, Natalie Flores and Elizabeth Flores, all of Visalia; three brothers, Carlos Flores of New Mexico, Lupe Flores of Woodlake and David Flores of Visalia; his sisters, Estella Sanchez of Woodlake, Margaret Jimenez of San Diego, CA, Maria Carrillo of Woodlake, Ramona Flores of Visalia, Lupe Navarro of Visalia, Socorro Flores of Woodlake and Marina Alcantar of Visalia; four granddaughters, Juliana, Erica, Mackenzie and Korinne and a host of extended family and friends.
