David Max Hepworth (Dave), 70, of Tulare passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Dave was born in Grover, Wyoming on February 13, 1953 to Bruce and Maxine Hepworth. He graduated from Tennyson High School in Hayward, California. After high school, Dave served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shortly after returning home from his mission, he met Connie Cheel at a party, after which he told his parents that he had found the love of his life. One year later, Dave and Connie were married in the Oakland, California LDS temple. They were married for 48 years.
Throughout his life, Dave demonstrated a strong work ethic. He spent the majority of his career in the stainless steel pipefitting industry as a welder, designer and supervisor. After retirement, he worked as a tax advisor. He was actively involved in serving his community and his church. Throughout Dave’s life, he coached several youth baseball and soccer teams. He was involved in the Associated Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and worked as the AYSO Commissioner for several years. Some of the activities Dave enjoyed were fishing, hunting, golfing, serving others, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dave leaves behind a legacy of service and love. He always wore a smile on his face, was quick to make a joke, and loved sharing life stories to anyone who lent a listening ear. Dave always knew what to say. He had the ability to sense others’ needs and was quick to offer service, a big comforting hug, and lots of advice. He was very proud of his 8 children and loved his wife with all his heart.
Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years Connie Cheel Hepworth; his children Bryan (Kristen) Hepworth, Travis Hepworth, Kylene (Jeremy) Cardon, David Jr. (Ula) Hepworth, Sarah Daniels, Walter (Valerie) Hepworth, Matthew Hepworth, and Logan Hepworth; along with 16 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Mike (Susan) Hepworth and Jeff (Joy) Hepworth, and one sister, Delena Otteson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 451 E Merritt, Ave. Tulare, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to your local church or sports organizations.
