Xavier Gerhard Schaefer

Xavier Gerhard Schaefer, age 92, of Norfolk, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. Mr. Schaefer was born in Loose Creek, Missouri on September 9, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Leona Schaefer and his wife Arbutus Fern Schaefer. Mr. Schaefer was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Civil Service after forty-two years of service. He was a member of St. Pius, X Catholic Church in Norfolk. Survivors include his son Alan Schaefer and his wife Mary Ann; two grandchildren Rebecca Stone and Ben Schaefer; four siblings Virgin Gentges and her husband Edward, Geneva Rackers and her husband Paul, Dan Schaefer and his wife Florence and Walter Schaefer and his wife Judy and many nieces. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Pius, X, Catholic Church on Thursday, June 13, at 11:00a.m. Inurnment will be private at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
