William “Corkey” Kent Langston, 77, passed away in Norfolk on Friday, February 19, 2021. Corkey was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late James and Christine Langston. He is also predeceased by his brother, James R. Langston. Corkey was a US Army veteran, part of the 82nd Airborne and the 5th Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He later started working as a QA/QC Inspector with Dominion Energy. Very active socially, he was a member of Scottish Rites of Freemason in Texas and Previous Assistant Chief of the Nansemond Indian Tribal Association. A true outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed coaching soccer as well. He is survived by his wife Norma Langston; children, William Kent Smith and his wife, Liz, Heather Lamont and her husband, Chris and Andy Langston and his wife, Myra; seven grandchildren, Kent, Jr., Andrew, Haley, Sarah, Owen, Abi and Maxwell, as well as a host of other family members and close friends.
A visitation will be from 6-8pm, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2pm the following day in the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow the service at Rosewood Memorial Park.
