Teresa M. Cherry, 60, passed away on February 28, 2022. She was born on October 25, 1961 to the late Tillie M. and Jennis L. Cherry, Sr. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jennis L. Cherry, Jr. and her nephew, Chase L. Taylor.
Teresa work for the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife and retired after 25 years. Teresa loved nature. She knew the names and origin of most species of trees, plants, flowers, anything that grew in the area.
Her first love was that of critters, any and all kinds. Her first critter was a rabbit, then we moved on to ferrets dogs, cats, the bird for the day, and a baby raccoon that fell out of a tree. He hung out for about 3 years.
Teresa is survived by her sister, Janet Taylor and husband, Tim of Moyock, NC; a nephew, Jesse Taylor and wife, Helen of Moyock, NC; a niece, Markie Overton and husband, Terry of Moyock, NC;
two great nieces, Adelynn Taylor and Raelee Overton; two great nephews, Gabriel Taylor and Holden Overton. She also leaves behind her dog, Zenn.
