Pat was born in Washington, DC, and graduated from Georgetown Visitation High School. She attended classes at the Corcoran School of Art and worked as a graphic designer at the Treasury Department until she married her husband Bill in 1943, shortly before he deployed to Okinawa in WWII. She left the workplace to raise three children at the family home in Arlington, VA, where she was active as a school and community volunteer. Pat returned to work as a job placement counselor and manager at a major employment agency in Northern Virginia for over 20 years.
Following their retirement, Pat and Bill moved to a new home in the Outer Banks of NC where they lived 18 happy years, followed by one final move to their condominium in Nansemond on the Bay in Norfolk, where they lived another 15 years and enjoyed the friendship of so many wonderful neighbors.
Pat is survived by her three children: Pam Palma (Enrique) of Arlington, VA; Bill Perkins, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; and Dana Graves of Fairfax, VA. Additional survivors include her grandchildren Rick Palma, Langdon Graves, and Max Perkins (Mary), and great grandchildren Elaine and James Perkins.
