Patricia Anne Bernard

Patsy was a member of the Legal Secretary Association. She worked as a secretary for many years then earned her Associate Degree from Tidewater Community College to be a Para-Legal. Before retiring in 2008, she had worked for over 30 years for Montagna, Kline & Camden Law Office. Patsy was an avid reader. She also enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching. Attending craft shows was a highlight during the holiday seasons. She loved attending plays and movies. One of her favorite pastimes was watching old movies, especially westerns. John Wayne was her favorite cowboy. Patsy was always a very strong woman. Her family and friends could always count on her for advice, counsel, and support. She was a loving Mama, Grandma, Gigi, and sister; she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her two daughters, P. Michelle Barrett (Gary) and Amy Bernard-Howard (Ken); two grandsons, Will Barrett (fiancé Lexi) and Evan Howard; one brother, C.W. Meixel Jr. (Sonja); two sisters, Gloria Hatten (Paul), Kathy Lehman (Paul); great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one aunt, Stella Smith.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A funeral will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the funeral home, with burial in Rosewood Memorial Park.
