Melbert Edward Russell, 90, passed away on December 11, 2021. He was born on April 27, 1931 to the late Melbert W. and Victoria M. ( Capaldi ) Russell in Danbury, Connecticut. He is precede in death by his wife Marilyn Olive ( Peltier ) Russell of Chatham, Massachusetts. And later, life partner, Dolores Bolander of Minnesota.
Melbert served in the US Navy as a LCDR and pilot. One of his duties involved transporting heads of state. He received recognition for his sport achievements in Junior and High school, Arnold College,
the Tornado’s, and the Gebert Fur Team by The Old Timers Athletic Association of Greater
Danbury. He also became an avid golfer later in life.
Melbert is survived by his sons Mel and his wife Cindy; Marc and his wife Denise; his daughter
Marilee; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will be missed much.
