Virginia Beach - Jean Rich, 84, passed quietly on Friday, November 23, 2012. Jean was born in South Norfolk, VA. She joins in Heaven her beloved father, Eugene M. Johnson, mother Sally Spratley Johnson, brother Nick Johnson, grand-daughters Lauren and Nicole Wrocklage, and her special cousin Bertha Oghe. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Wrocklage, son-in-law Christopher Wrocklage, grandsons Tyler and Matthew, cousins Dick Spratley and Dorothy Wenzel, daughter Patricia Hughes, and many friends and relatives.
Jean led a full and giving life, retired from Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters, and later did volunteer work for the City of Norfolk. Her family and friends cherished her for her gentleness and her loving ways. She wished to be remembered as a humble person who took pleasure in the simple things in life.
A memorial service in celebration of Jean's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Rd, Va. Beach. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters
