Jean Emelene Porter

Jean Emelene Porter, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on May 20, 2017. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband James Martin Porter and a daughter Debra Porter Titcomb and beloved dog Petey. She was a loving mother, gran and a friend to many. She retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a past president of the Toast Mistress Club. Survivors include three daughters Susan Poulter and husband Everett, Janet Dobson and husband Phillip, Karen Bryan and husband Greg; 12 grandchildren Dawn Bailey Plevyak, Brandon Everett Poulter, Sarah Poulter Bridges, Jared Wilson Bailey, James Michael Porter, Lauren Dobson Ward, Amy Katherine Poulter, Jennifer Dobson Phillips, Amber Jean Bryan, Megan Lindsey Bryan, Jacob Marks Poulter and Gregory Fisher Bryan;19 great grandchildren Haley Marie Tanner, Hunter Staylor Bailey, Parker Brian Todd, Hannah Dawn Todd, Alexander Harrison Ward, Julia Marie Ward, Johnathan Alan Ward, Nathen Andrew Wyman,Michel Richard Porter, Evan James Phillips, Abigail Rose Bridges, Damien Fisher Bryan, Ryleigh Olivia Bryan, Autumn Shea Poulter Olivia Grace Bridges, Staylor Russell Bailey, Maya Sophia Poulter, Addisyn Lily Bryan and Hayden Kaye Miller;1 great great grandson Oliver Brian Tanner; a brother James Walker and sister Kate Reynolds and her beloved pet and companion Piggy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 26, 11:00 a.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a reception to follow at her home.
