Jane T. Kavanaugh

Mrs. Kavanaugh was born in Elmira, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Kavanaugh in 2004. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, St. Matthew’s Women’s Club, St. Matthew’s Sunshine Club, The Red Hat Society and the “Bountiful Beach Babes” Chapter. She was an avid bowler with the Shirts & Skirts and a Graduate and member of Elmira College Alumni. She was a fan of the Tidewater Tides and the Norfolk Tides and she loved her New York Mets.

Survivors include her son, Steven P. Kavanaugh, daughter Anne L. Kavanaugh, godson, Nicholas Pearce, two nieces Jean and Mary, and her grand-dog Mottley.

A special thanks to Juanita Jacobs of Senior Corp for assisting in her care in her final days.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the residence. They will also receive friends at the visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to St Matthew's Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
