Chesapeake- Gloria Jean McDonald was reunited with her family and friends in heaven on August 18, 2024. Gloria spent her life as a homemaker and mother to the four McDonald girls. She enjoyed her life on Old McDonald’s farm that was located on Salem Road surrounded by many types of animals throughout the years including dogs, goats, geese, and cows. During her life some of her favorite things were visiting with friends, reading a good book, drinking a cold Coca Cola, and eating a Hershey bar. In her later years she resided at the memory care unit at Cedar Manor where she enjoyed praying for others, having her nails manicured and she loved to sing when she heard music. The staff gave her the nickname GG.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 Years, Walter F McDonald, two daughters Lelia Pearl Panowitz and Wanda Jean Panzer, and two brothers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gloria Annette Widen and husband, David of Chesapeake Va. and Pamela McDonald Cox and her husband David, of Goode Va; seven grandchildren, Scott, Kara, Chelse, Katie, Zach, Jacey and Amber; eight great grandchildren Seth, Maddie, Sydney, Matthew, Eliot, Jack, Evie and Ellie; son in law, Skip Panowitz and his wife Barbara of Bel Air, Md.
A gravesite service will be conducted by Burton Robinson at Rosewood and Kellum on Witch duck Road in Virginia Beach on Friday August 23, 2024 at 10am.
