Efren Abad Escobar, 69, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2021. Efren was born in Manilla, Philippines on April 20, 1951 to the late Jose Escobar, Sr. and Maxima Escobar.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Isabel and daughters, Angelina, Christina, Jennyfer and Joyceline. Efren came to the United States with his family and joined the US Army. After meeting his wife and starting a family, they settled down in Hampton Roads where Efren worked in the Naval Shipyard. Efren is known as “the cool uncle“ and also as the good man to his family friends. But loved and called "old man" by his three grandsons Isaac, Jacob and Beaux .
There will be a visitation on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 4-6 pm and a funeral service on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 10 am with burial to follow. All services will be at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home at 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
