Carolyn Thompson Anglin, 93, a longtime VA Beach resident went home to be with our Lord on Monday, June 21, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Prospect, VA to parents William L. and Bessie (Glenn) Thompson.
Carolyn had retired from the C & P Telephone Company with 33 years of service and was proud of her membership with the Red Hat Society. She was also very active in her church, Kempsville Baptist in VA Beach as well as an election pole worker for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years George "Pat" Anglin, son, Glen D. Herndon, grandson, Josh Herndon, a brother, William "Bill" Thompson and son in laws Adrian "Abie" Dailey and James "Jim" Bowden.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Elizabeth "Betty" Gray & husband Richard "Dick" Gray of Norfolk, Peggy H. Bowden & Fiancé Roy B. Yancey of VA Beach, Glenda H. Kellum & husband Neal Kellum of VA Beach/Naples, FL, sons, Tom & Eleanor Anglin, Fred & Mary Anglin, Jim & Laurie Anglin, daughter Anita & Pete Siegrist, loving sister Dorothy (Dot) Upton & husband Dan, loving brother Rowland "Zeke" Thompson & Fiancée Maggie Straub, grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" Chism & Fiancée Glenda Dodd, James Taylor & wife Michelle, Lucas Anglin, two great-grandchildren, Chase & Alyssa Taylor, also great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends and church family.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, in VA Beach VA, at 11:30 am with Dr. Kelly Burris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Everyone is invited to a luncheon in the funeral home lounge after the interment.
Donations to honor Carolyn may be made to Hope Haven Children’s Fund in VA Beach, VA. Carolyn was a loving and caring mother, devoted wife and friend to so many. Her long life serves as a testimony to her love for family and "God". We love you Mom and will miss you so much today and always.
