Barbara Britt Myrick

Barbara Britt Myrick, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home on April 28th, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1933 in Rich Square, NC to her late parents Arthur & Lucille Britt. Barbara is preceded in death by the love of her life; her husband of over 50 years, Murry Wilson Myrick, Jr. and a grandson, Ryan Myrick. She is survived by her children, son Kevin Myrick, and son Brian Myrick and his wife, Beverly, and a granddaughter Taylor Grulke and her husband Justin. Barbara graduated from Kempsville High school in 1951. She lived in Avalon Terrace for 65 years, where she raised her boys and was a dedicated PTA president for Woodstock Elementary. Barbara created Hobbies & Crafts with Barbara in 1977. She was a talented Folk Art painter, and enjoyed the ladies that took classes at her shop. We would like to acknowledge neighbors Lucky & Phyllis Allen, and Chris & Janet Rogers for keeping an eye out for Barbara over the years. Judy Ryals, for moving in and caring for Barbara these past 2 years. You cannot know how much we appreciate you. Barbara wanted a private service and we are honoring her wishes.
