Asuncion M. Roquiz, was born on February 22, 1921 in Santa Cruz, Zambales, Philippines. She passed away on January 25, 2012 in Avon Park, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente Maniago and Fausta Mesia Maniago, her husband, Pacido Roquiz, and a daughter, Prescy Beroncal.
Asuncion married Placido Roquiz and they had eight children including the late Prescy Beroncal, and husband Romeo Beroncal, Fe Aromin and husband, Anthony, Perla Salvador and husband, Art, Eliseo Roquiz and wife, Minda, Esther Tan and husband, Ignacio, Placido Roquiz, Jr., and wife, Nida, Ruth Dalida and husband, Dem, Jr., Gideon Roquiz and wife, Miriam.
She has eighteen grandchildren, Fay Ann Ward (married to John Ward), Elaine Beroncal, Edmund Beroncal (married to Jonielyn Beroncal), Pearlie June Crame (married to Eddie Crame), Matthew Roquiz, Mark Roquiz, Eliseo Roquiz, Jr. (married to Woodlyne Roquiz), Michael Roquiz, Jeremiah Tan, Jonathan Tan, Jessica Tan, Andrew Roquiz, David Roquiz (married to Beverly Roquiz), Deborah Roquiz, Nataliah Dalida, Kathryn Dalida, Rachel Dalida and Rebecca Roquiz.
She has four great grandchildren, Kayla Ward, Kitana Ward, Preston Beroncal, and Cannon Crame, and many nieces and nephews.
Asuncion was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. She was a member of The Assembly of Yah, in which her late husband, Placido served as the first pastor.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of Mrs. Roquiz’s life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012, 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
