Anna Louisa Velazquez, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born on November 18, 1937 to the late Galo and Maria (Agustina) Rosario in the Bronx, New York City. Her husband, Victor Manuel Velazquez preceded her in death.
Anna was born and raised in the South Bronx. Anna is one of 7 sister and 2 brothers. In 1955 our mother Anna met the love of her life, Victor Velazquez. They married and had 4 children. Our mother loved and adored her children and family. She loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, and was a devout Christian and a very active member of her Church. The accomplishments she was most proud of, was that of being a loving devoted wife, a mother, a sister and eventually a wonderful, nurturing grandmother and great- grandmother. She was a great partner to my Dad and supported him through the hard times and the very good times. They traveled the world together and enjoyed life to the fullest. It was indeed a wonderful life. Our parents were married for almost 50 years until our father’s untimely passing. Our mother was a glorious example of love, support and devotion. She garnered respect from all who came to know her. Spending time with our extended family was paramount to her and she made the supreme effort and sacrifice to make sure we spent quality time with our grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends. She was the absolute glue to our family. We will be forever grateful to our mom for that. Grateful for how she supported us in every way. She was our rock. Later in her life she became even more selfless only thinking about who she could help. That was our mom. She was the ultimate caregiver to her father Galo, her mother-in-law Guadalupe, her best friend Nati and our father Victor. We love you mom and thank you for everything you gave us. You will miss you beyond words. Rest in peace.
