Angel Luis Vera, age 60, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Angel was born August 25, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Mercedes Vera and a sister Judy Vera.
Mr. Vera was a soldier with the United States Army. He was employed with the New York City Sanitation Department for twenty-five years during September 11, 2001 and served as a First Responder. He was a former member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the Rock Church in Virginia Beach and Victory Worship Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-four years Margaret R. Vera; four children Angel Vera, Jr., Richie Ruiz, Angelica Vera and Judy Vera; six grandchildren, Heaven, Bella, Myangel, Mercedes, Jaya and Baby Angel Vera, III; brothers and sisters Inez Vera Jackson, Mike Vera, Dennis Vera, Lillian Vera Otero, Jimmy Vera, Miriam Vera and Anthony Vera.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 15, at 10:00a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
