Nancy was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1958. She worked at Calcasieu Marine Bank for over 20 years and was also the proud owner of The Cabbage Patch Flowers and Gifts since 1978. Nancy loved to travel, visit with friends, and also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Gaspard and husband, Robert of Vinton, and Wendy Koonce and husband, Mike of Sulphur; her sister, Beverly Smith of Vinton; six grandchildren, Kimberly Gaspard Russo and husband, Robby, Heather Koonce, Derek Gaspard and wife, Daicha, Krista Koonce Guilbeau and husband, Jared, Brett Koonce and wife, Kourtney, and Kelsey Gaspard; seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Kinley, and Juliette Russo, Cameron and Myles Gaspard, Khloe Kennedy, Kadley Koonce, and baby boy Koonce due in September; niece, Tracy Moore; and nephew, Jay Paul Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alton Roy, Jr. and her parents, Syrus and Lou Anna Guidry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Thursday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Derek Gaspard, Brett Koonce, Robby Russo, Jared Guilbeau, Jay Paul Smith, and Tony Scarpulla. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Russo and Cameron Gaspard. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
