Elaine Barrios Chenoweth, 94, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, in a LaPorte, Texas care facility.
She was a native of Vinton where she returned to live in 1994 after many years in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Nelson of LaPorte, Texas; her granddaughter, Sheila Echols-Smesny and husband, Jerome; and two nieces, Ellen Edgar and Susan Walker, both of Vinton. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lester Nelson; and her sister, Olive Chargois.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Rick Watson will officiate. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
