Lois Arlene Hager Carroll

Lois Arlene (Hager) Carroll, 82 of Charleston SC, passed away Sunday evening July 10, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Johnson Township, Knox County, IN to the late Peyton and Madge (Cox) Hager and spent most of her life in and around Vincennes. She was a working mother who cherished her family and friends. Lois moved to Evansville, IN where she worked and retired, later moving to Charleston, SC to be near family. Even though she was a long way from “home”, she always tried to keep in touch with family and friends across the country. Everyone that knew her loved her for the kind and gentle person she was. She will be missed. Lois is survived by Diane and Bob Culter of Lawrenceville, IL, Steve and Brenda Coleman of Hollywood, SC and Ann Coleman Buck of Charleston, SC. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Todd Culter, Jeff Culter, Adina Montgomery, Jennifer Coleman, Sean Coleman and Justin Buck, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 5 sisters and a grandson, Robert Culter. Funeral services celebrating Lois’ life will be held on Sunday July 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home 505 Main Street. The Rev. Lori Peach-Filban will officiate. Following the service, she will be laid to rest with her parents and siblings at West Salem Cemetery in Johnson Township. Friends are invited to visit and share memories of Lois with the family on Sunday from Noon until the service time at Gardner-Brockman.
