Virginia Luna Alvarado

November 16, 1938 – September 25, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Virginia Alvarado on September 25, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on November 16, 1938, Virginia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose generosity and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her.

Virginia was best known for her incredible love of cooking and her unwavering dedication to caring for her family and loved ones. She had a passion for crocheting and sewing, spending many joyful hours creating beautiful works of art for those close to her. Her home was a place of comfort and sanctuary, always open to those in need. Many who were not even her biological children lovingly called her “Mom,” a testament to her nurturing and welcoming spirit. She had a special gift for making everyone feel cherished and appreciated.

One of Virginia’s favorite pastimes was visiting casinos, where she found great joy in trying her luck on the slot machines.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Salvador D. Alvarado, and her son Alex. She is survived by her sister, Molly Hoffman; her children, Henry and Loretta Alvarado, Chris and Teresa Alvarado, Angel and Naomi Alvarado; and her daughter-in-law Ruby Alvarado. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who will forever remember her loving heart and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.

Her spirit of generosity and love will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A visitation for Virginia will be held Monday, October 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Desert View, 11478 Amargosa Rd, Victorville, CA 92392. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 11478 Amargosa Rd, Victorville, CA 92392. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Rd, Victorville, CA 92392.
