Rick is survived by his sister Chere Moore (Larry), his son Bret (Richelle), his daughter Jennifer Thomas (Gregg), eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and more on the way.
Rick was born in Portland, Oregon, on Christmas Eve to his parents Phyllis and Kenneth (both now deceased). As a young man, he enjoyed serving in the Army Reserves and loved to tell stories of his exploits. He was married to his first love, Linda, the mother of his two children, for 30+ years.
He was a life long entrepreneur and with Linda’s help, he built a successful real estate brokerage, earning multiple awards and serving on real estate boards. They left Oregon in search of a sunnier climate and lived in Northern California for many years before finally making their way to Southern California, which is where Rick found the sunshine he had always loved and eventually met Arlene with whom he spent many of his later years. Rick prided himself on his tool collection and put them to good use fixing anything and everything. He was a “car guy” who was always in search of his next car.
Rick was very outgoing and made friends wherever he went and will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
