“IT’S NOT ABOUT ME, IT’S ABOUT HIM”. Jesus put this way of living life upon Mickee’s heart as a young lady, serving the Lord by loving her “neighbors” and being that of a real prayer warrior. Mickee spend much of her younger years with her Uncle Byron in Washington helping with working along side him in the bakery business and teaching her the most important thing in life is to serve Jesus. In her early twenties, she married the love of her life Vern E. James, residing in Long Beach, California, then moving to Balboa Island. The Lord called upon Mickee and Vern to move from the beautiful island to the desert (Lucerne Valley). Mickee obeyed the Lord’s calling with half a smile, but with an open heart to what the Lord had in store for her, Vern Sr. and their new born son.
Mickee and Vern had started several different businesses, but the main one “Vern’s Mobil Glass” is where the Lord had really blessed them, with their hard dedicated work ethics. Through this company with placing God at the helm, they were not only able to provide for their family, but for so many other family members, neighbors, and that of even strangers with their giving hearts. We are so thankful for her sister (Opal Lofton) and sister in law (Phyllis Mortimore) spending countless hours, days, and months by her side up until God welcomed her into his Kingdom.
Mickee was surpassed by her husband Vern E. James and their only son Vern A. James. Mickee is survived by many family members, nieces, and nephews that will miss her love, wisdom and honesty.
