Edwin Clay Orum 67, of Apple Valley, California, died February 3, 2017 at the Sierra View Care Center in Baldwin Park, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vern Hellyer Orum and Edna Diekemper Orum. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lucille Orum of Mechanicsville, VA. and his brother Thomas Vern Orum (Nancy) od Tucson, AZ. Ed was born in Keokuk, Iowa on October 13, 1949 and lived on a farm near Denver, Illinois until he was 9 years old, when his family moved to California. He graduated from Upland High School in Upland, California, attended Yale College for three years and graduated from the University of California Riverside. He was married twice, first to Aleta DeFies Orum (deceased) and then Winifred A Nethery Orum. He taught high school science in Blythe and Hesperia California until 1995. He was a talented in music and enjoyed playing the piano. His Christian faith was central to his life. The Desert View Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family is planning a private memorial in the spring.
