Maxine “Bettye” Erwin, 94, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 10, 1922 to Lawrence and Mary DeWald. She passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016.
Bettye was married to Clarence Elvis Erwin. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and always had a kind word for everyone.
Bettye was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was president of the Victoria Decora Study Club and was president of Victoria Duplicate Bridge Club.
Bettye is survived by her daughter, Peggy Erwin Redding and son-in-law Bob Redding and grandchildren, Todd Fitzgerald, Shannan Ramirez, Keli Fitzgerald, Trey Erwin, Nannie Reinert, Will Erwin, Robert Redding and Mark Redding. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, two brothers Leon DeWald and Jack DeWald, a daughter Carolyn Erwin Puckett and a son, “Bill” C.E. Erwin, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 6-7 PM.
Graveside services will be 12:00 PM Noon on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Mike Hurt officiating.
