Kathleen O’Toole Hanselka, 70, of Victoria passed away Thursday, July 4 2013. Kathy was born January 11, 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Owen and Mary Finneran O’Toole. She married Joseph Robert Hanselka on August 16, 1975 in Victoria, TX. Through their thirty eight years of marriage, Joe and Kathy raised four children, ran three successful businesses that included a real estate brokerage, and enjoyed traveling the world.
Kathy was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her social affiliates consisted of Rotary, Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Incarnate Word Blessed Sacrament Associate, and Victoria Business Women’s Association.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hanselka of Victoria; sons Kenneth McCay of Palacios and Timothy Hanselka of Victoria; daughter, Summer Morse of Tampa, FL; sister, Nancy O’Toole of Providence, RI; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Hanselka, and a sister, Jean O’Toole.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, July 8, 2013 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. The rosary will immediately follow visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father George Henninger officiating. Burial will follow at Shillerville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Bennett, Buddy Franz, David Morse, Greg Haynes, Lawrence Wick, and Len Dietzel. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Neumann, Lloyd Waitschies and Paul Christopher.
Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society, Hospice of South Texas, and Dorothy O’Connor Pet Adoption.
