Elizabeth E. Brosch Micek

Elizabeth E. Micek, 88, of Victoria passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born December 31, 1923, in Hallettsville to the late Willie and Albina Bujnoch Brosch. She was employed as a cafeteria worker for 32 years for the Victoria Independent School District. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Higdon and husband, Robert of Victoria and Bernice Carey and husband, John of Sheridan; son, Jerry Micek and wife, Lita of Hallettsville; grandchildren, John Carey, Jr., Jeffrey Micek, Shane Higdon, Matthew Higdon, Luke Higdon, Kelly Krieger and Michelle Schneider; great-grandchildren, Brett Micek, Kayla Micek, Tyler Micek, Logan Micek, Kallie Krieger, Kamiryn Krieger, Emily Schneider, Cole Schneider, Matt Carey and Kristen Carey.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Joseph Micek October 3, 1999; sisters, Bessie Pruesser; Mary Nerada, Victoria Matulik and Agnes Kalisek; brothers, Frank Brosch and Victor Brosch; grandchildren, Kevin Wayne Micek and Crystal Micek; one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels, followed by a Rosary at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be at 3 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Bob Kinppenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will gather at Holy Family Catholic Church following the graveside service for a time of fellowship and refreshment.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandson.

Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and great-granddaughters, Dr. Rakesh Kathpalia and Dr. Juan Zeno-Llompart, and all staff and residents at Twin Pines Nursing and Rehab.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Twin Pines Activity Fund.
