Ron died peacefully on October 21, 2022 in Victoria B.C., surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife Sheila Fuller (nee James) in 2004, his brother Clayton and his sisters Lorraine and Velda.
Ron is survived by his children Russell (Julia), Clare (John) and Jim (Ana) and his much cherished grandchildren Miles, Veronica, Mitchell and Luke. He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.
Ron was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Neeta and Earl Fuller and moved to Victoria, B.C. in 1944.
Ron attended Sir James Douglas Elementary, Central Junior High and Victoria High School. After leaving school, Ron began a lifelong career at the BC Power Commission (which later became BC Hydro) and this is where he met Sheila. Although he worked for many years, his real passion was volunteerism, through his churches, as President of the Oak Bay Band Parents’ Association (which also led to Ron and Sheila chaperoning on several tours), and his time with the Alliance Club/Youth Empowerment Society, the Victoria AIDS Respite Care Society and the Rainbow Kitchen.
Ron lived his life with a deep sense of spirituality, which was the essence of his being and what drove him to be such a kind and caring individual. If Ron came upon someone in need, there was never any hesitation on his part to be a support and friend to them.
Although Ron kept a busy schedule between work and volunteering, his wife and family were always his priority. This devotion was displayed in many ways, including month-long family vacations every summer either to Disneyland or to the prairies to visit close relatives. These were some of the best memories with Dad and Mom that we will cherish forever.
We love you so much Dad. Rest in Peace.
A memorial service for Ron will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:30pm at St. George’s Anglican Church at 3909 St George’s Ln, Victoria B.C. (off Maynard Street in Cadboro Bay).
