Born to Tracy and Ilan Levy in Edmonton, Rachel was raised in Calgary and followed their passion for art, writing, and theatre to the west coast. While acting in the same play at UVic, Rachel and Eva Hocking (he/they) fell madly in love following some sickeningly cute flirting, and they promptly moved in together. In 2020 they adopted their sweet dog Benji, and in 2021 they were officially engaged following a treasure hunt to the summit of Mt. Tolmie.
Some quotes from Rachel's journal, shared with unlimited love:
"Everything keeps changing. That's the one constant. All we can do is take things day by day."
"I'm realizing just how unique my life is. I love it. My differences make me feel strong."
"My life is more than the things I accomplish."
"Finding the beauty of simple things and acknowledging that my life is not a waste. Whatever I do with it is beautiful."
"Simply living is a great mitzvah."
Rachel is loved and remembered by brothers Isaac and Ethan, maternal grandparents Duane and Maureen Dick, uncle Robert, aunts Debbie (Don) and Suzanne, cousins Nicola and Amanda, paternal grandparents Naftali and Sara Levy, uncles Harry and Yuval, and cousins Ariele, Moriah and Asher.
