Maggie, as she was affectionately known, raised a family of 5. She was actively involved in girl guides as a Brown Owl. She was a hockey, football, baseball and figure skating mother. She worked for many years at Woodward’s Food Floor, McGavins Bread and the City of Calgary. Around 1996, she moved to Vancouver Island to embrace the island life and live with her sister Bea. Her many skills included cooking, baking, cross stitch, spending time with those she loved, and sharing her joy of life.
Maggie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Francis Handy; brothers, Don and Ken Handy; sister, Bea Lyon; and son, Marshall Conley.
Maggie is survived by her sister, Ada Hall; brothers, Robert (Merle) Handy and Larry (Sharon) Handy; daughters Margo (Don) Lott, Marlene Conley, and Melinda (Andy) Ritchie; son, Michael; her 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, family, extended family and friends.
