Lynn Elizabeth Hitchcox

Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Lynn was the eldest child of Jackie and Denis Hitchcox. Sadly, she was predeceased by her mom in 2012. She will be missed terribly by her dad Denis, siblings Dale Hitchcox, Kris (Harold) Jeffrey, Teri (Matt) McGeachie, and Lee (Brian) McKenna, as well as her nephews and nieces, Mitch (Leanne), Randi (Ryan), Matt (Holly), Rhee, Jamie (Colene), along with many great nephews and nieces all of whom she adored.

Lynn is survived by her treasured pride and joy, son Kyle Hitchcox. Her wish was to pass in Kyle’s home and not in a hospital environment. They were both very fortunate to spend the last month of her journey together.

Growing up, Lynn had great aspirations for her life. She loved people, the arts, music, clothes and had a keen eye for design. During her young adult years, she travelled and worked in a few provinces across the West. At different periods in her life, Lynn gave service. To name a few, she volunteered in a nursing home by reading to the elderly, spending time chatting and walking with them. She spent time cleaning elderly homes, and with a non-profit located in Cowichan Valley, she walked therapeutic horses for kids with diverse abilities while they sat in the saddle. In her later years, Kyle and his mom shared many trips together, one being the most memorable, their adventure in Hawaii.

Lynn will be deeply missed by her family and friends. After a short fight with cancer, she is now free to dance with the angels.

We are forever grateful to the palliative care staff at Victoria Jubilee Hospital and to the many incredible VIHA home care workers and mental health care workers who were so kind and supportive to both Lynn and Kyle during her last month here with us.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:00am (PST) at the First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr., Victoria, BC, V8Y 1B4.
