Laura N Rand

RAND, Laura Nan (Nee Coomber) – Of North Saanich, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on September 14, 2023 after a brief illness. Laura was born in Victoria in 1958 into a loving home. She was predeceased by her parents Al Coomber (1997) and Eileen Coomber (2007). She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 40 years, Derek Rand, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. Laura enjoyed sharing her skills as a bookkeeper with her church and other organizations. She was passionate about animals, especially cats and dogs. Laura had numerous pets throughout her life in addition to foster cats and kittens in recent years.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the North Saanich firefighters, paramedics, Saanich Peninsula Hospital emergency staff and Royal Jubilee Hospital ICU staff who responded with such amazing compassionate care. Special thanks also to family, friends and neighbours for your many acts of kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saanichton Bible Fellowship, 2159 Mt Newton X Rd, Saanichton on November 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Laura’s memory to Cat’s Cradle Animal Rescue (#101- 9780 2nd Street, Sidney, BC, V8L 3Y8) or a charity of your choice.
