It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Faye Kemmis, who was born on October 23, 1941, in Vancouver, BC. She grew up surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Vancouver Island and Alert Bay.
A dedicated nurse and passionate supporter of the NDP, Faye leaves behind a legacy of compassion and commitment to her community. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, known for her vibrant spirit and love of life and travel.
Faye had a deep affection for the ocean and was often seen walking along the beaches of BC with her two beloved dogs. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, Amber Fournier and Justin Fournier.
She was predeceased by her mother, Eunice Clelland; her father, Alexander (Sandy) Clelland; her sister, Shirley Dykes; and her nephew, Kelly Dykes. Faye is survived by her daughter, Angela Kemmis; her stepson, Michael Gilliam; her sister, Marlene Clelland; her nieces, Sherry Matts and Deanna Boreen; her nephews, Casey Chapman and Vaughan Buzzard; as well as her grandchildren, Amber Fournier and Justin Fournier. All of whom will forever cherish her memory.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the NDP party in her honor.
Faye Kemmis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
