Elizabeth Eva Harmon (nee Ellwood) peacefully passed away at home in Sidney, BC Dec. 04, 2016. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Harmon, parents Alex and Birdie Ellwood and 4 sisters Valerie (George) Patterson, Enid and Gwen.
With joy in our hearts Beth’s nieces, nephews, friends from near and far will remember her strength, courage and particularly her self-discipline. Her many stories, sense of humor, generosity and acceptance for all will live on in our memories of her life.
Beth enjoyed her childhood days in Metchosin where the Ellwood family ran the post office and general store. In her twenties Beth worked in Vancouver for her uncle as a medical receptionist and then later when working in Calgary for her brother-in-law Beth met Lloyd. Together they shared a love to travel with Lloyd’s photography known worldwide. After building their home in West Vancouver Lloyd decided to move to Sidney where they built two more. Family and friends shared laughter and great hospitality in their home on the ocean.
Beth always kept active in her community with volunteer work at Mt. Newton, attending Church, golfing, biking, walking and swimming. The ocean storms, blue heron and her little otter in the bay would keep her entertained for hours.
Memorial service to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held: December 16 at 11:30 in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 9691 4th Street, Sidney, BC.
