“Until We Meet Again”
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Brian passed away at the age of 69 surrounded by his family into the loving arms of Jesus on November 8, 2024 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. He was at peace, with no regrets and no loose ends after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his father Elvin, he will be greatly missed by his wife Shelley, mother Eleanor, brother Wayne and his family Owen and Carlee, mother in law Connie, brother in law Grant and his family, Rachel (Ray) Anna and Laura and brother in law Kevin (Kelsey) and their family, Emma, Noah, Charlie and Polly.
Brian exemplified a life well lived and was loved by all who met him. We will always remember that smile, those blue eyes and his joyful, kind spirit. Brian had a big heart and many dear friends. He was genuinely interested and cared about everyone he met, taking the time to help anyone in need. His legacy of working hard, and knowing just what to do and getting it done with precision, was his gift to those around him.
A 50 year member of Local 324, Brian worked for 44 years as a commercial plumber in Victoria, all the while working at the Thompson family farm in Saanichton. After his retirement in 2018 he was “living the dream” putting up hay on the Saanich Peninsula with friends at Saanichton Farm until his illness was diagnosed.
Many thanks to all of you who faithfully prayed for Brian and his family. We also thank his medical team of doctors, the caring staff of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital palliative ward and numerous home care nurses that visited regularly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Friendship Community Church where he attended and was a member.
