Jenny was born September 5, 1935, in Wendelin, Ohio, to the late Jacob and Loretta (Wuebker) Siefring.
On August 19, 1958 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, she married 2nd Lieutenant James “Jim” Condon and left the family farm embarking on a 20 year career as the wife and household commander of an Air Force Airman. This venture brought her across the United States with Jim’s various assignments; living in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Michigan, California, Alabama, and back to California. She also was able to periodically join Jim at overseas assignments in Thailand. During this time Jenny was raising her family, often for long stretches on her own, and volunteering her time with the American Red Cross at military hospitals. While in California she began working at a flower shop where she developed a passion and skill for floral design that eventually led to her owning and operating her own business.
Upon Jim’s retirement from the military in 1978, they returned home to Ohio and settled in Versailles where she owned and operated the House of Flowers for 19 years. Jenny has been active in the community with the Versailles Area Museum, Versailles Garden Club, and volunteering with the Council of Churches Versailles Food Pantry and community meals. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church.
Jenny enjoyed traveling throughout the country visiting with old military friends, tending to her flowers, and above all spending countless hours in the kitchen making candies and baking cookies, pies, and Amish bread that she relished sharing with family and friends. She always had something sweet to offer visitors and was affectionately known as “Gummy Worm Grandma” by her great-grandkids as they were always available on the counter and she was known to carry them in her purse.
In addition to her parents, Jenny is also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Condon on May 30, 2013; grandson, Nathan Condon; great-granddaughter, Julia Sommers: siblings (and spouses), Irene (Ralph) Schilling, Ralph Siefring, Evelyn Siefring, Dorie (Jimmy) Baltes, Leroy Siefring, Victor Siefring, and Urban Siefring: brothers-in-law, Fred Condon and Bob Condon.
Jenny is survived by her children and spouses, Brian and Barb Condon, Krista and Charlie Krueger, Mary Beth and Dave Berger and Kelly and Brian Trump, all of Versailles, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane Siefring, Flo Siefring-McCalla, Roberta Condon, Dick and Angie Condon, Becky Condon and Marcie and Chuck Meiring, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
