Thomas Arnold Mooney

Art passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 5th, 2014 at the age of 85. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and remembered by his family: Fran, his wife of 62 years; daughters Donna (Darryl), Sharon (Don), Lorraine (Steve); sons Kevin (Cindy) and Rick; grandchildren Nikki (Cindy), Sean (Melanie), Tyler, Brianne, Drake, Wyatt, and Mayson; brother Del (Linda); sister Ella; sister-in-law Lynda; and many wonderful caring friends. Art started his career in the oil patch in Alberta in 1952. In 1989 he and Fran both retired and moved to Vernon, BC. He worked part-time as security at the Okanagan College until November 2013 where he again retired at the age of 84 after 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending as much time as possible at their lake lot at Newport Beach on the Okanagan Lake. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles hall, 5101 - 25th Avenue, Vernon, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3505 - 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4 or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
