Joan was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and gigi. She filled all those roles with grace and generosity. Her door was always open to family and friends with the coffee pot on. Joan was a wonderful baker and cook, hosting many large family dinners over the years. Joan was born in Nelson, BC. on May 16th, 1930 and moved to Vernon in her mid-teens. Throughtout Joan's life, she enjoyed curling, golfing, winters in Arizona, travels, having family and friends at her home around the pool sharing so much laughter, but most of all, she had a great love for her pets. She worked at Consumers Glass as a ware inspector and industrial first aid attendant. She retired after 20 plus years.
Joan is survived by her children: Richard (Janet) of Prince Rupert, Deborah (Tim), Robert (Wendy), and Donna-Lee (Dale) all of Vernon; grandchildren: Shauna, Alex, Dave, Krystal, Allison, Robyn, Camille, Jay, Kevin, Carrie-Ann; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters: Janie Seaby (Nelson) and Gladys Redman (Vernon); brother, Don Wigg (Diane) of Penticton;sister-in-law Crystal (Tiny) Wigg (Nelson); brothers-in-law: Arthur (Mannie) Jakeman (Vernon), Don Kenedy (Ottawa), and Albert McCluskey (Vernon).
