Irene Erna Porter

We regret to announce the passing of our mother Irene Porter on November 14, 2020. Irene was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Irene was born in Vernon to loving parents Ted and Kady Doberstein.

Throughout her life, Irene enjoyed her family, cooking, baking, quilting and many different crafting endeavors. She also enjoyed fishing and camping with her family. Irene was a dedicated lifetime member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans Unit #5. She spent countless volunteer hours for ANAF and Ladies Auxiliary events and causes.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Des, her daughter Cherie and sisters Martha Woolford and Agnes Jezewsky. She will be sadly missed by her children Cindy and Geoff (Janice), her sister Ruth Childs, and brothers Bruno and Harry (Betty) Doberstein. Irene will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Due to current events, a Celebration of Life for Irene will take place at a future date.
