April 29, 1940 – May 13, 2016
Frank “Gordon” Robinson died peacefully on May 13, 2016 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital with his wife by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carole, son Aaron (Lori), grandchildren Jamie and Sean and sister, Myrna. Gord was predeceased by his daughter, Heather and parents, Muriel and Frank.
Gord grew up in Revelstoke, BC where he enjoyed school and sports, particularly playing hockey at the local rink. He moved to the Okanagan as a young adult where he worked as a Chartered Accountant for over 30 years. He was passionate about his work but found balance by spending time with family and friends on Okanagan Lake, camping around BC and skiing up at Silver Star. He met his bride up at “the Hill” and to this day Silver Star and skiing remains a big part of the Robinson family. Gord and Carole raised Aaron and Heather in Vernon and encouraged all the outdoor activities the Okanagan has to offer. Gord had a special relationship with his grandkids and was very proud of them. He was a rapt spectator at their activities and took great pleasure teaching them woodworking, how to play chess and most recently “a little poker”.
A Memorial Tea will take place on Wednesday June 8, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home (4303 Pleasant Valley Road). Those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Gord may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The Robinson family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to family and friends, Dr. Borchert, Dr. Naude, Cindy Morrison and the team of nurses and community care professionals that touched our lives, especially during the most challenging final days. Your kindness and attentive care has meant a great deal – thank you.
Arrangements under the direction of Vernon Funeral Home, Vernon, BC.
