May 22, 1959 – September 21, 2018
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of David Hesketh. David passed away suddenly and peacefully, Friday September 21, 2018 at the age of 59, after an ongoing battle with cancer with family at his side. He is survived by three incredible children: Samantha, James and Sara and their mother Diana. Also, he is survived by his mother Patricia Hesketh and his two brothers Steven [Eileen, Jordan and Tyler], and Mark [Karin, Jason, Ryan and Dylan]. David was also caregiver to Danny. He was predeceased by his father Bill Hesketh.
David had a strong passion for the Arts and, in his role as President of the Performing Arts Centre Society (1997-2001), was proud of the fact that he helped make the dream of a new theatre possible. In his last days he championed the need for a Cultural Centre. His desire to run for Council and promote this project that was so dear to his heart, was cut short but his dream and legacies will live on through the community. VOTE YES!
David was a musician, composer, organizer and promoter and was passionate about bringing in bands and working on other special events. In the past he spearheaded the Sculpture Symposium, Run for the Cure, Seaton Dry Grads and performed for many events including the Variety Show of Hearts telethon. He was also a cub leader and soccer coach.
David lived his life to the full via his music, community and friends but mostly through his family where his humour, spirit, laughter and unconditional love were such a part of how we will remember him. We will miss him but the memories he left behind will be with us forever. All our love on your next journey David and say “hi” to Dad for us.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity United Church on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2p.m.
If you so wish, David would have loved contributions to Hospice House (nohs.ca) where he received extraordinary care and a new lease on life. We will always be grateful for the staff and volunteers at Hospice House and especially Dr. Jolly.
