Linda Richardson was dearly loved by both her family and friends and she will always be missed. All who knew her celebrated and cherished her life. Both as mother and humanitarian, Linda was courageous and selfless.
Linda Patricia Murray was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on May 25, 1947, the second child of Leonard and Virginia Murray. She grew up in Edina, Minn. With her sister, Carol, and her brother John, and graduated from Edina High School before attending Briarcliff College in Long Island, N.Y.
In 1967 Linda married Dr. Jeffrey Richardson, her high school sweetheart. This relationship, which led to the raising of their sons, Scot (1969) and Ross (1973), was enduring and everlasting. During the birth of both of her sons, Jeff was in the U.S. Navy at war, leaving Linda by herself to raise the two active boys. Both of her sons have gone on to have successful careers in medicine and film.
While living in Minnesota, Linda was actively involved in founding the first YMCA in her community as well as becoming a successful saleswoman for Mary Kay Cosmetics. In 1979 her family moved from Edina, Minn. To Ventura, Calif. There she became actively involved in local charities such as Assistance League and the Medical Society Wives Auxiliary.
During the 1990’s Linda began a career in residential real estate and became a successful real estate broker in Camarillo winning many awards including being a top producer both nationally and locally for the Remax Real Estate Group. In her career as a real estate agent, Linda demonstrated to her family not only her drive and work ethic, but also her ethics and moral constitution. Linda enjoyed helping people achieve their dreams not only in real estate but also in life. She was involved in several charities and organizations.
Linda was an extraordinarily proud parent and grandparent. She loved to spend time with her children, Ross and Scot, as well as her grandchildren, Sandy, Sebastian, and Jacqueline. In between tending to her family, she enjoyed her poodles, baking pies and working as a skillful needlepoint artist. No one will love their mother as much as her children and grandchildren loved Linda. She was one of a kind. She was truly one of the sweetest, kindest, warmest women anyone would be honored enough to know. This obituary is not enough to constitute her life.
Linda Patricia Richardson was an extraordinary woman and only those who celebrate and extraordinary life can truly appreciate what she had to offer.
Linda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ross Richardson and America Martin of Los Angeles and son and daughter-in-law Scot and Sandra Richardson of Santa Barbara; granddaughters Sandy Richardson and Jacqueline Richardson and grandson, Sebastian Richardson all of Santa Barbara; sister, Carole Wons of Bloomington, Minnesota; brother John Murray of Westlake Village; former husband Jeffrey Richardson.
