Essmarie Slivar

Essmarie Slivar 92, of Ventura, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at home. Marie was born September 10, 1920, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to James and Pearl White. She had been a resident of Ventura since 1935, moving here from Oklahoma.

Marie was a woman of faith and a committed Christian.

Marie was loved and will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sheila of Ventura; John and Tammy Slivar of Oak View; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Del Kienholz of Bakersfield, granddaughters and their husbands, April and Oscar Bettencourt and Crystal and Junior Martinez; granddaughters, Sarah Kienholz and Lauren Kienholz; grandsons, Andy Slivar and Michael Slivar; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Taylor Bettencourt; brothers, Chester White and Harold White; sister, Flora Webb. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Slivar in 2000; her brothers and sisters, Tootsie, Edgar, Clarence, Bertie, Ruby and Thelma.

Visitation will take place Thursday, June 27, 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

Services will be Friday, June 28, 10 a.m. also at Ted Mayr Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
