Floyd Richard Strauss

Floyd Richard Strauss, 80 of Vancouver, Wa. passed away on October 29, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Portland, OR. on August 31st 1939 to William and Margaret Strauss. He graduated from Willamette High School in Eugene, Oregon in 1957. He then entered the Air Force until 1961. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1973 receiving his Bachelors degree. Floyd married Cheryl on January 30th, 1971.

Floyd spent his working years for the Teamsters Union retiring at an early age so he could enjoy his life to the fullest. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, word working, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren, grand dogs, and family. He was always a member of a church family, most recently MannaHouse. Floyd was a very generous man, always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a dedicated husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

Floyd is survived by his wife Cheryl; daughters Sonja Strauss, Angie Angel (Brett) and Jena Larsen (Andrew); two grandchildren Haylee and Caddis; his siblings Bill Strauss (Diane), Sharon Pells, Carol Massey, and Barbara Goodman (Charlie) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. Contributions may be made as donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Willamette National Cemetery at www.cem.va.gov 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. Portland, OR 97086.
