Charles "Chuck" E. Osborne passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 16, 2016 in Vancouver, WA. He was born Nov. 10, 1933 in Vancouver, WA to parents Earl and Nina (Cox) Osborne, becoming the 4th of 4 children. Chuck graduated from Vancouver High School, Class of 1951.
He was a member of the US Air Force as a Lithographic Pressman receiving an honorable discharge as Airman First Class in Aug, 1955.
Chuck worked at Pioneer Printing and Stationary, starting at age 16, and with the exception of his military duty, worked there continuously for 46 years, retiring in 1996.
While in the Air Force in Texas, Chuck married Betty (Heffington) in 1954, adopting her children, Barbara and Clinton, and subsequently having a son together, Jack.
While Barbara and Clint have passed, survivors include: Max Plowman (Barbara's husband); grandchildren, Tracy Lange, husband Tim, great-grandchildren, Grace, Charlie; Lori Booterbaugh, husband James, great-grandchildren, Connor, Richard, and Jordan; Joy Chapman, husband Jason, great-grandchildren, Chloe, Colton; and Johnathan. Joya Osborne, Clint's wife, granddaughter, Courtney. Jack and wife Amy, grandson, Adam, wife Erin, great-grandchild, Wyatt; granddaughter, Mary Gallaty, and husband Josh.
Chuck later married Jean (Thurston) in 1974, making a family with her and her children, Krista, Eric and Leah Ann.
While Jean preceded Chuck in death, surviving children include: Krista Kruse, husband Vince, grandchildren Christopher deKerguelen, wife Whitney, and Colin Kruse; Eric, wife Terri, grandchildren, Vanessa Keck (Stephen), Taylor, Valerie, Grant, Bethany and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Finley and Hezikaya; Leah Ann Landre, husband Louis, grandchildren, Matt (Danielle), Josh (Brogan) and great-grandchildren, Miles, Della, and Oakly.
Chuck has been happily married to Gail (Schmeichel) for 25 years enjoying a family with her and her children, Kristi and Kammi. The surviving children include: Kristi Isensee, husband Peter, grandchildren, Alisha and Tayla; Kammi Stewart, husband Don, grandchildren, Audrie and Jessica.
Also preceding in death are: parents, Earl and Nina Osborne; brother, Ted Osborne; sister, Dolores Miltenberger; wife, Betty (Heffington); and wife, Jean (Thurston).Additional survivors include wife, Gail; brother, Don Osborne and wife Helen; and of course many nieces and nephews and their families.
Chuck became, to many, the "Card Man" for his methodical propensity for remembering to send cards for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays to all the people that he cared about. He loved playing pool, riding motorcycles, driving BMW's and finding ways to fix anything broken.
He touched a lot of lives with love, kindness and generous giving of his time. He will be loved always and truly missed as a part of our lives.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hazel Dell, WA on Monday, Feb. 22nd at 11:00a.m.
