Chi Ying was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hon Kwong, and her sister's Wan Chi Pui & Wan Chi Fong
Chi Ying was born in Guangzhou on March 31st, 1931 to Wan Chung Him & Ip Suet Yiu.
Chi Ying in her early life was a dedicated Nurse in Hong Kong before moving to Canada with her family in 1971. She, along with her husband Hon Kwong would go on to open up a successful restaurant chain "Hon’s Wun Tun House". Chi Ying enjoyed travelling with her family, teaching them the different ways of the world. Chi Ying would also became a devout Catholic in her later years, devoting her days to studying the teachings of the bible, meeting up for luncheons and dinners with her many friends and often travelling with them around the world. Even reaching parts of Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East highlighted by a trip to the Holy Land. Chi Ying also enjoyed gardening, reading, walking the Ambleside seawall daily and finding new ways to enjoy the beauty that life offered.
Life was not always kind to Chi Ying, nor did it go the way she wanted, but she found absolute wealth in family, friends and the word of the Lord.
Chi Ying will be remembered for her warm smile and embrace. Her ability to show uncondintional kindness and love to those around her, even those she had just met. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Gala, and her grandchildren, Gabriel & Rufina.
A service will be held on Friday, June 21st at 10 AM at Christ the Redeemer, 599 Keith Road, West Vancouver, British Columbia. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the same quiet dignity that she carried throughout her life.
