It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Mons Wardle at the age of 94. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Edith) of 70 years. He will be deeply missed by his three sons Peter (Brenda), Paul (Marlene), John (Miki) and his daughter Julie (Jack) as well six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He died peacefully on April 23, 2010 at VGH after courageously battling Cancer for a second time. Monty, as he was known by, was born in Donington Le Heath in England where he served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in England during WWII. Monty and Betty immigrated to Toronto in 1949 The family has many happy memories of times spent at the cottage he built on Lake Simcoe. Upon Monty’s retirement from Carrier Air Conditioning as Vice President of Service in 1975, the family moved to Vancouver where he continued to work with his sons in real estate development. Monty enjoyed music and dancing and always enjoyed taking on new projects. He will be remembered for his love of life and his devotion to his family. The family would like to thank the VGH Dialysis Unit Doctors and Nurses for their wonderful care during the past three years.
