Wai Wan “Allyson” Low, 69, of Vancouver, passed on July 22, 2024, in St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit after a hard-fought 17-month battle with terminal ovarian cancer.
She was born on November 21, 1954 to Low Kok Wah and Ow Mei Yoke in Singapore.
Allyson graduated secretarial school and worked in administration and real estate as co-owner of Challenger Properties Ltd. with her husband, Kum Fook “Jon” Low, who she married on May 31, 1981. They had three children, Sean (Miranda), Shana, and Vanessa (Brad), as well as three grandchildren, Isabelle, Caleb, and Noah.
She was an active member of Guardian Angels Parish in Vancouver and previously Star of the Sea Parish in White Rock. She loved dim sum and sushi with her family, gardening, and being active with her faith community.
Allyson is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and mother.
She was preceded in death by her father and sister.
The prayer vigil will be held on Monday, July 29 at 7:00 PM at Guardian Angels Parish (1161 Broughton St., Vancouver.)
The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Parish (1161 Broughton St., Vancouver).
